Keenan said Heinrichs makes complex ideas accessible to students and they enjoyed his funny examples. I've been teaching AP Lang & Comp for 10+ years. Discovered the previous edition of this book about two years ago. Assigned as summer reading, but came back to it again and again during the year. Students entered my class with an idea about the direction we were going, and I was able to start class with common language and hit the ground running! Heinrichs makes complex ideas accessible to students and they enjoyed his funny examples.. "Worthy" according to Edgar Balanag. I teach AP English Language and Composition. I read Thabk You for Arguing on the suggestion of our school's librarian. I laughed and learned. I loved it. Last year we added Mr. Heinrichs's book for summer reading for AP Lang. Students began the year with a clear understanding of the art of persuasion and a pretty good sense of humor. I also enjoy using the ArgueLab and WordHero sites to practice and supplement. This is high quality and accessible; thank you Mr. Heinrichs!
