I thought I knew all there was to know about Karen and The Carpenters but I was very wrong. This book really deals with it all, both the joy and pain Karen had in her short life. I am so glad that Richard was not able to force the writer to tell the watered down story he has been telling for years. Barbara I never quite believed the obviously edited and programmed version of the truth behind the issues revolving Karen Carpenter, as perpetrated by her family. Her sudden drastic weight loss was so alarming, and she looked like someone who was going through cancer treatments. As obvious as it was to all that something was definitely wrong, she was determined to dispel any opinion to the contrary, and her last interview with Joan London proved that.
