DESCRIPTION:
Anyone who has attended a live Sedaris event knows that his diary readings are often among the most joyful parts of the evening. For nearly four decades, David Sedaris has faithfully kept a diary in which he records his thoughts and observations on the odd and funny events he witnesses. Tender, hilarious, illuminating, and endlessly captivating, Theft by Finding offers a rare look into the mind of one of our generation's greatest comic geniuses.. But never before have they been available in print. From best-selling author David Sedaris, for the first time in print: selections from the diaries that are the source of his remarkable autobiographical essays. From deeply poignant to laugh-out-loud funny, these selections reveal with new intimacy a man longtime fans only think they know. One of the most anticipated books of 2017: New York Times Book Review, New York's Vulture, Bustle, and BookRiot. Now, in Theft by Finding, Sedaris brings us his favorite entries
The PG Woodhouse syndrome TODD R CASPELL David has become the PG Woodhouse of his era. Unfortunately, this includes publishing SOME reruns. Great writingâ as always and some tales are new. But you will be frustrated when you recognize you read that story before. I LOVE David but he needs to get out more.. Looking forward to the sequel Honest Reviewer I didn't really expect it to be, but this is fun reading. You watch him evolve from a druggie, struggling to buy food, to becoming a successful playwright and author. Even though most of his entries are about mundane events, it keeps you glued, and somehow weaves together in an interesting progression.. A lot of fun. But as I read it A lot of fun. But as I read it, I couldn't help thinking this is a cheat. Lots of peoplekeep diaries, some undoubtedly much more compelling than the one Sedaris hscompiled here. Still, his comment often are hilarious and very on target. He comes acrossas totally nuts and totally likable.
