Bigfoot. Several of these disparate threads eventually hook together, but it's a lot for readers to follow, and the two main storylines never connect. If Helton can add a bit of self-discipline to his obvious strengths and create just one cohesive plot, his second novel will be something to look forward to. All rights reserved. . He now exhibits regularly in London and Cornwall, and writes in his spare time. Peter Helton was born in Germany but moved to London in 1982 where he worked as a translator for film and tv before moving to Bath, where he decided to take his painting hobby a little more seriously and completed a Fine Art degree at UWE
Snarky, irrevent, well written with good characters.Good first outing If you are looking for a plot summary, check other reviews. I am only giving my impressions regarding the book and whether you should buy it or notI have been looking for a replacement for Robert B. Parker's Spenser since Parker passed away.the "new" series is basically Spenser-liteThis is not to say the the Chris Honeysett series is anything like Spenser; as characters go, they are not alike at all - in temperament, sensibilities, or physically. What they do share is a sense of irreverence, snarky humor, and exiting plots. There is violence and some sexual. Good book - lots going on This book has as its main character an artist/detective with his own style of living, mixing conventional and unconventional attitudes about where and how to live - all with a great sense of humor and a good heart, plus a more than a dash of sarcasm and wit. The writing style is easy to follow and the book flows well, even though there are quite a few plot strands to follow. The setting (Bath, Cornwall, and the main character's home in the country) are used to good effect, and there are lots of relationships among the various characters that are interesting. Headcase Norma Nash This book was received in just a couple of days, I was impressed with the speed of delivery. Condition was as promised. Thankyou
