It is put together in chronological order, with big and little stories to tell the tales of these brave women. I cannot only get lost in the pictures but also the stories and have spent hours just admiring this book and randomly r. I met Cristine Sommer Simmons at her booth in the vendors section and was so impressed with her book. I did not have room to pack such a large book so I immediately ordered two when I got home. One is a present for a friend that also was with me on the trip. I'm a history buff and the historian for our local Cajun HOG Chapter. All my published articles have their roots in the mot. Great book super fat shipping. I bought this book as a gift and after reading all the other reviews I new it would be a good one. It's a really well thought out and very elaborately illustrated book with a striking front cover. I was actually suprised at how large it was when it arrived (I guess I never thought to look at the dimentions). It could actually be a coffee table. The author did her home work.
