The Unbreakable Bond Lisa Barr Mothers, Daughters, Sisters … ahh, the complexities. The fabulously talented Kristy Woodson Harvey’s latest southern charmer, "Slightly South of Simple" not only hits close to home—but for me personally, her novel IS home. I have three daughters of my own, and the author brilliantly captures the intricacies of motherhood/sisterhood with profo. GREAT Summer Read!! This book is EVERYTHING you want in a beach / summer read! It's a funny, heartwarming, gutwrenching, and beautifully written story about motherhood, sisterhood, family and leaves you wanting more! Which is awesome, since the second book in the series is coming next year!Run out and pick it up for your mama for Mother's Day, or for yourself!. An enjoyable read! I was looking for something light hearted and non political to read. This was perfect! It dealt with complex issues and complex people but it was a fun read and very enjoyable. Can't wait for the next book in this series!

Exploring the powerful bonds between sisters and mothers and daughters, this engaging novel is filled with Southern charm, emotional drama, and plenty of heart.. But now that her marriage to a New York high society heir has fallen apart in a very public, very embarrassing fashion, a pregnant Caroline decides to escape the gossipmongers with her nine-year-old daughter and head home to her mother, Ansley. But when her second daughter Sloane, whose military husband is overseas, and youngest daughter and successful actress Emerson join the fray, Ansley begins to feel like the piece of herself she had finally found might be slipping from her grasp. Ansley has always put her three daughters first, especially when she found out that her late husband, despite what he had always promised, left her with next to nothing. Even more discomfiting, when someone from her past reappears in Ansley's life, the secret she's harbored from her daughters their entire lives might finally be forced into the open.
