Finally, a Jane Austen I enjoyed Michele I have never been able to understand the enduring popularity of Jane Austen's books. The one I read in print years ago was unmemorable. The two or three I tried to listen to on audio, and was unable to finish, were monotonous, genteel British chatter that quickly became background noise as my mind wandered. Thus, I long ago concluded that I simply was not a fane of Jane Austen and never would be.So I'm not sure exactly what made me try another of her books -- but I am glad I did. Man
