The Scottish warmth that belies the landscape Maybe you have to go there but this castle is bewitching. I've been twice, decades apart, and it still draws me. It is so impressive that I bought the book to keep the memory active, and the book almost lives up to the reality.I've been to many castles and manor houses and I never bought "the book" until this one. I initially went to this castle because I am a Shakepeare fan and could not resist the MacBeth connection. Cawdor Castle has it's portraits and fine furniture a. C. M. Carpenter said A great read. Less Highland living than decor in this Cawdor Castle. Still makes for a great read.
