Thoroughly enjoyable series I have now read this series one to four and am very hopeful of more in the pipeline. I have really enjoyed all of this series and this is the first time I have read this author. The writing is excellent and the plots convoluted. The characters are developing as the series develops but much is unknown about them, including my favourites and Jackson Lamb who is not! Some very humorous interactions and I can visualise these books as a really enjoyable TV series. I hope if there are future books that no . DRSwift said The best yet in the series.. I just loved this latest episode in the Slough Horse series. The twists and turns were classic British spy machinations with a suspenseful plot. When the Manchester bombing occurred just as I was finishing the book, I couldn't help but think that maybe there was more to the actual event than what was reported - the sign of Herron's convincing story telling.

Jackson Lamb worked with Cartwright back in the day. Twenty years retired, David Cartwright can still spot when the stoats are on his trail.
