DESCRIPTION:
Many church members are quite content in never moving forward in their faith. The sad part is that they do not see themselves in that condition. While it is obvious that the Bible is the chief resource for all spiritual development, as it stands alone many people are not committed to reading it and oftentimes when they do, they do not understand it. Beyond regular (again subjective) attendance they are unmotivated, or at best very limited in any type of active membership. Understanding that spiritual maturity is subjective in measure, makes the prior mentioned command that much more difficult to follow. There are hundreds and hundreds of Christian “wallflowers”. They are not far enough along in their faith to pursue their calling. Most churches profess or even model themselves after the Great Commission in Mathew 28. While that command is firm and should be carried out without question, I would urge you to consider another perspective regarding the Christian’s charge to just… “Go ye therefore”. Why? Many Christians have no idea of where they truly stand in their faith. Surprisingly simple, much needed.. When this model is followed, the believer will see that they have a responsibility, and the old "80/20 rule" will soon be reversed.. 7; Luke 10:2). He lays out a model whereby a Christian can easily determine their current spiritual maturity and take measurable steps In a world where most church attendees are content to be spectators, Arthur Keeley not only challenges us to become participants in the local body of believers, he also shows us how to do it! He lays out a model whereby a Christian can easily determine their current spiritual maturity and take measurable steps to grow in their faith. Along the way, the reader finds motivation to make a significant contribution to the ministry of the church, thus finding and fulfilling their God intended role as a participant rather than an observer.
