A Teaching Aid I am teaching a course on Mountains in an adult education program. The extraordinary illustrations in this book were very helpful.. Anne L. Harris said Outstanding Photos. The pictures from space are ones which we usually never see. They give a good sense of the vastness of the mountains on our earth. I will be reading this again and again.. "Used is OK!" according to Dorothy. I ordered this book, USED, IN EXCELLENT CONDITION and found it to be a former Library book and it WAS in excellent condition with wonderful photos. My only problem was that it didn't give an option for when I needed it (Christmas)and by the time it arrived, my son had returned to his home.

Using highly specialized, advanced digital satellite imaging-first made possible in the year 2000 with the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission-this book presents an astounding collection of images of the Earth's mountain ranges carefully compiled over the course of five years by the German Remote Sensing Data Center. Contributions by esteemed scientists and mountaineers alike highlight this provocative study of our planet Earth.
