Maynard said Good resource to have available.. Some of the information is a little dated, some of the procedures just aren't really done anymore unless you're super old school. Some of the torque specs are different depending on your application and hardware used. But, it is a great reference tool when assembling a SBC for clearances, assembly procedure, etc. I studied it especially when installing my crankshaft. Between this book . The problem is it hasn't been updated for the one-piece rear seal or roller cam & lifter installation. However, there isn't much available that is any better. So I settled on 4 stars.. stars. "Excellent Book!" according to Pachyderm. Old, not fully up to date, but still a cornerstone of this activity. I learned TONS from this book. I am now well prepared to build up a Excellent Book!
