Great book--read it!! L G I grabbed this book as soon as it came out and read through it at such a rapid pace that I was disappointed when it was over--I wanted more! I do catch myself watching the headlines and catch myself thinking back to his first book and the tie-ins to the real world. I even love all the references to pop culture that are sprinkled throughout the story. It also reminds me that I need to look up some of those references (a bibliographic reference to some of those lines would be awesome!)What I loved about this book was how Weston Ochse man. It had a few too many characters, which made some of the many "conflict in LA" episodes a little hard to follow. But the main character(s) are great and this is my kind of escapist yarn. The book starts some months after the Battle of Kilimanjaro when OMBRA has moved operations to California to continue the war against the alien invaders. Everything the first book did right, this one does even better. Mason continues his character development, except saddled with even more guilt from the events in the first novel.
