DESCRIPTION:
Up to their necks in an investigation of a bizarre apparent homicide, the two detectives barely keep afloat in murky waters. Enter Tommy Sculley, a retired New York homicide detective who has just joined the Key West force, and his young, green partner, Daryl Haynes, who turns out to be smarter than he looks. Events take them from the Florida Keys to Los Angeles and back as a plot emerges that involves not only the dangerous Clare but a furious West Coast mob boss determined to get back what is his at any cost.. Murder is not a spectator sport. Now at Key West's Old Racquet Club, Chuck gets involved with the wrong married woman - the enticing Clare Carras, married to an enigmatic older man - and soon he is in way over his head. Chuck Chandler has choked on more than one occasion - first as a pro tennis player at Wimbledon, then as a womanizing coach at posh tennis clubs around the country
"Take a pass on this one" according to PJNYC. Not one of Woods better books. Just couldn't get into the characters, and the story just seemed "stilted". The Character development is pretty poor. It's one of those books you pick up at a beach/vacation house that someone left behind.. "Good book!!" according to Linda from NY. This is a Stuart Woods classic story filled with sex and suspense and a great storyline. I highly recommend it and all his books. He's a fabulous author. Lots of twists and turns and just the right amount of descriptions!. "Enjoyed it a lot" according to Brian Tamblin.. Enjoyed it a lot. Good fast easy reading. Not much description of the things that don't matter like colors and shapes and other stuff which some books /authors seem to use as filler.
